About KawanWe are the UCLA Pilipino Catholic Association, a college, Christian community founded in 2021 to celebrate the Filipino tradition of the Catholic faith at the #1 public university in America.
Rooted in the biblical and Tagalog word ‘kawan’ which translates to ‘flock,’ the association welcomes students, alumni, and friends of all backgrounds. As part of the University Catholic Center, Kawan fosters an uplifting space and college bahay (home) for its members. We explore the Christian faith and teachings of Jesus Christ through a Filipino lens with examples set by our patron saints, San Lorenzo Ruiz and San Pedro Calungsod. |
We welcome you to Kawan!
